Visit with leader dog puppy raiser Sue McDowell and hear touching stories of the organization, the clients, the volunteers, and the dogs who make so much possible.
Becoming a leader dog is rigorous work, and it all begins with a volunteer puppy raiser.
Join us for a visit with leader dog puppy raiser Sue McDowell. Sue is co-counselor for the Ann Arbor Area Puppy Raisers chapter of Leader Dogs for the Blind, whose activism and volunteerism ensures that puppies are ready for their training when they return to the Leader Dog campus. At this program, Sue will share the touching stories of the organization, the clients, the volunteers, and the dogs who make so much possible. Sue’s current puppy, Frida, will be on site during this program.
Leader Dogs for the Blind was founded in 1939 with $400 and the belief that everyone deserves a life of independence and mobility. Today, over 200 leader dogs are paired each year with grateful clients.
For all ages.
