Event Description

Junior Naturalist is a free nature learning series for youth ages 7- 12. Parks Naturalists Kelsey and Shawn lead hikes and teach nature skills. Kids receive a badge for each completed program and after 4 programs, kids can choose a cool nature prize.

Learn how to build a campfire with only materials you find in nature. Fire lays, tinder bundles and kindling will all be demonstrated and practiced. Learn the rule of 3’s and how they relate to fires and forts. Then enjoy a peaceful afternoon learning and implementing primitive skills like debris hut building. Meet at the beach pavilion. Led by Elle Bogle.
