As of February 22 when we added this event, we have not seen an announcement that the Michigan Avenue Branch has reopened. Over the last few months, the library has scheduled events and had to cancel them when the library did not open. We will try to check back before the event to see if the library has opened, the event has been moved, or cancelled.
YDL’s 2025 Family Read book, The Puppets of Spelhorst has a central theme of kindness. In celebration of both Patsy Chandler and the Family Read program, come out to create kindness for others!
Help Michigan Avenue staff celebrate the life and legacy of Patsy Chandler, a local philanthropist and avid community supporter. Throughout the day, a tea station will be available in honor of the many Birthday Tea Parties Patsy hosted as fundraisers for our library and other community organizations. There will also be supplies to make cards for Cups of Love for Meals on Wheels: mugs stuffed with tea, hot chocolate, soup mix, and a card. Visit the library to celebrate Patsy’s birthday, enjoy a cup of tea, and engage in community building!
