Celebrate an old-fashioned Hallowe’en at Greenfield Village.

What’s the most enchanting, nostalgic and fantastical Halloween adventure? It’s The Henry Ford’s Hallowe’en in Greenfield Village, Michigan’s premier outdoor October celebration.

From harvest markets and fall themes to costumed storybook characters and ghostly performances, our Hallowe’en tradition is one of a kind, showcased within the bewitching setting of Greenfield Village after hours.

Hosted over 16 evenings in October, Hallowe’en in Greenfield Village is formatted for guests to stroll through the village at their own pace, picking and choosing their own festive or frightful experience.

Harvest-themed activities from the 18th and 19th centuries are included in the program’s daytime hours for a family-friendly fall atmosphere that transitions to traditional Hallowe’en spookiness as twilight falls.

A must-see addition to your evening, the Hallowe’en Express will return to its haunted tracks by popular demand, taking riders along a ghoulish and surprising journey through Greenfield Village. Timed tickets for the Hallowe’en Express are available to purchase online for an additional $4/person

Costumes are encouraged. But, trick or treating is no longer part of the experience.

The event includes:

• 18th- and 19th-century activities, including wool dyeing, cooking demonstrations, beer brewing, corn husk crafts and Hallowe’en yard games 
• More than 50 costumed characters like the Grim Reaper, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan and more
• Dramatic vignettes from The Wizard of Oz, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, The Tell-Tale Heart, Jack and the Bean Stalk and more
• Village-wide theming with special lighting and sound effects, including illuminated jack-o’-lantern paths
• Fall treats, hot beverages and craft beer available for purchase 
• New in 2024! Menlo Park screening of 1910 film “Frankenstein” with live character interactions
• New in 2024! Enhanced Town Hall experience with “Wolfman Jack” disk jockey
• Returning from 2023! FREE horse-drawn carriage rides

We’ve attended Hallowe’en in Greenfield Village several times under the old format- 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2016.

Tickets are already on sale for members. Tickets for the general public go on sale at 8a September 4.
