SUMMARY:Wee-Write
DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nHear a book and get inspired! Students ages 5-8 will expe
 rience the joy of story-creating however they are able\, from writing to c
 onversation-based brainstorming and development of new ideas.\n\n\n\nEach 
 week they'll start by reading a book aloud and pay attention to one specia
 l thing the writer does (like using rhyme to impact the reader\, or how th
 e writer shows a character’s feelings). Then\, they'll work on activitie
 s inspired by that idea. Students brainstorm with volunteers and then do i
 ndependent writing in whatever form and subject they choose. Students expe
 rience the joy of story-creating however they are able\, from the physical
  act to conversation-based brainstorming and developing new ideas.\n\n\n\n
 Families will be asked to fill out a registration form on their student's 
 first day. This form can be completed in advance&nbsp\;on&nbsp\;826michiga
 n's&nbsp\;website. There will be paper copies at the program too. \n\n\n\n
 This is a drop-in program–join when you can!&nbsp\;\n\n\n
