AADL is having a day of Creative Coding for teens & adults.

All events are held in the Secret Lab except Telling Stories with Inform which is in the Training Center

Creative Coding Sessions:

• 12-1:00pm Making Art and Games with Processing 
  • Processing is an incredibly versatile language for visual art, games, and creative work across many genres. Here, we’ll focus on the basics of game creation but will also learn about its many other uses in the art world.
• 1:15-2:15pm Telling Stories with Inform 
  • Have you ever wanted to write a Choose Your Own Adventure story or text-based adventure game like Zork? Come and learn how to write your own interactive fiction using Inform, a simple but powerful coding language. Then play through the stories that you and others have written!
• 2:30-3:30pm Composing Music with Sonic Pi 
  • You’ll be making music in no time with Sonic Pi. It has lots of built-in effects, audio samples, and ways to loop the music. Best of all, you can use it to live code a concert, changing your music on the fly.
• 3:45-4:45pm Building a Visual Synthesizer with Hydra 
  • Hydra is a very powerful (but simple to use) visual synthesizer that can create myriad fascinating patters with a minimum of code. You can also make it react to sound so it’s perfect for the background of a musical performance.
