Hi – I’m Erin and I work for the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum, and contribute to their blog. I keep track of blog alerts about the Museum and noticed your post about your visit.
Thanks for sharing your experience. This is great feedback for us. We already have staff looking into the wifi access problem you mentioned. We’re also looking into ways to open the Museum during hours that are more convenient for visitors – and especially members.
Thanks again. Hope you have a great summer!
I attended Little Boo on Thursday morning; I was somewhat disappointed with the event. A flyer for directions to the treat stations is a nice idea if you aren’t hauling 2 kids in a wagon. They needed more signage. Also, the line for trick-or treating were long even though we arrived right when the zoo opened. The candy was sparse and what was handed out wasn’t even appropriate for toddlers (nerds & snickers???) Also, to get from one treat station to another you had to cut through the auditorium which was blocked by a sound stage, vendors, and a muscian. It was very crowded. They also didn’t have the goats open which is my son’s favorite part of the zoo. It was a real bummer.
Mom2Coy- I am sorry you were somewhat disappointed. From a friend who went to Little Boo it seemed like there were some changes this year from prior years. In the past the treat stations were around the Carnivore Cafe with some activities in the auditorium. Pumpkin Path has more treat stations and I found the signage to be adequate (maybe they are closer together).

Glad to see you finally made it to the zoo!! 🙂 The weather was gorgeous this week. I can’t wait to go and see the new cub sometime this summer. So cute!
Thanks for the review. We live just down the street, so we saw some of the fireworks from our backyard. I was thinking of going tonight to watch the fireworks in the park, but perhaps I will just stay home again and enjoy the show from here! Love your blog!
Laura – if you’re close enough you could walk – It is $2/person, but might be worth a few extra $$ over the $5 parking to walk home. Thanks for the compliment on the blog.
I am glad she has her priorities straight. 🙂

How funny… Believe it or not, I think we were actually there at the same time on Sunday! 🙂
I had a good time, too! It was my first time blueberry picking, and I was surprised how easy it was. I didn’t have to get really dirty, or pricked by bushes, or anything! (I’m a city boy.) And I even told my friend at the time that it would be a great activity for kids!
(This is @BenFranklin1982 from Twitter, by the way!)
I work for Bagger Dave’s and just wanted to apologize for the service issues and the food goof.
We are indeed having a Thomas the Train event on Sunday, October 3rd. Our kids meals for kids 12 and under will be 1/2 off, plus we will have Thomas the Train-themed goodie bags, a coloring contest, a costume contest, and free face painting. Our electric train will be transformed into an authentic Thomas the Train too!
I can send you the flyer for the event, please e-mail me at info@baggerdaves.com.
Making art out of trash intrigues the heck out of me. I have always thought that it is not the medium we use but what we do with it that makes it art.
Target has great bib style snow pants for kids for $12!
last year we got replacement pants at TJ Maxx for $6-10 🙂 AK
Thanks for the recommendations. As it turns out she is super skinny so her 3T pants are still fitting on maximum shoulder height. Not the greatest match, but they’re already paid for.
I am not sure how to communicate to you on here, but I have to tell you of an event that’s listed on your event calendar that’s not correct. It says that every Wednesday there is a Border’s storytime and craft at Arborland at 630-700pm, but my son and I went there 2 weeks ago and asked the librarian about this during the time it said on this site, and she had no idea what I was talking about. She said there is no storytime at 630 on Wednesdays, and that there should not be incorrect information about events on the website. I think your information is great otherwise and love to be out doing fun events with my 4 year old son. We do almost all the activities and events in and aroudn Ann Arbor. Please just check to see if your information about events is correct on this website before posting it, and remove the 630pm storytime at Borders in Arborland. Thanks!
also I called the downtown Broders to check to see if they had the 100pm storytime on Wednesdays currently running, and the person on the phone said no, there is no 100 Wednesday sotrytime there. The ideas for events are great on your weekly calendar, but please make sure they are correct before entering them on the weekly calender for parents to follow for events for their preschoolers. I hope someone read this and updates the events to current ones. Thank You!
Thank you for letting me know. These events were held at one time and I did not realize they were no longer being held. The Waters Place times had been on the website, but are no longer listed, so I have removed them all.
In my search for preschools, my only issue with this school was that it did not offer a 5-day program.
Again, it seems like most co-op schools in the area only had 2 or 3-day choices.
Amanda – you could potentially place a 4 year old in a 5 day afternoon program at the Saline Coop. The school offers a MWF afternoon program for 4’s and a TTh afternoon program for 3&4 year olds. You could sign up for both. I would encourage you to come to our open house on Feb. 15th and speak with Ms. Bonnie as to how she would work with a child in that situation. Here is our web site for more information: http://www.salinecoop.org/. Thank you for your comment; it is a great idea!
Stone School is a one room historic school house and does not have the ability to have more than one class at a time.
We are going to see the show this Saturday.:)
AnnArbor.com has corrected their article. While elimination of midday kindergarten buses was an option, it was not eliminated.
I will update the post when I get to my computer.
My son attended, too! He was in room 10. He had a great time but I absolutely agree with the parking and Fri. schedule.
Love the new look!! I think this is great and I look forward to continuing to read!
Carol
Congrats on your new everything 🙂
A book for the grandparents of all their grandchildren would be great.
I do not know how my comment got to here instead of the Shutterfly post. Sorry, will try again.

I feel full day is better. More time for learning, less disconnect on days with specials, and more social interaction opportunities. If you were not aware, full day was reqiured some years ago, and schools that needed time to restructure had a grace period, but that expired a few years ago and schools not in compliance have had to pay a hefty fine, which means less money for students and salaries. My child was fortunate to go to full day and adjusted very quickly.
Soups are great for my picky eaters. Would love to try new flavors.
Is this the same kiosk as the one at Touch-a-Truck? If so, they did a pretty nice job with the cute (free) photos. Probably took about 15 minutes to get through it and te volunteer employees were super friendly.
jC Penney has free haircuts for K-6 grade through August.
Jeff also dislikes cooked apples. But that Dutch Apple sounds delicious to me!

Thank you for this. I am new in town, plus from Florida (no snow knowledge), and have a starting kindergarten-er. I am very anxious! : )
Thanks too! I also have an incoming kindergartner and just moved back to the district.
I’ve heard this is the best water park in our area but haven’t had a chance to try this one yet.
Would love to take both of my kids this winter. They have some great areas for toddlers to splash around.
I would love to try the zip coaster.
Hoping to win!!!
My son and step son have never been to a resort or waterpark…this would make one amazing vacation!!
Perfect for a family getaway. I’d love to win.
No, but i would love to go!
Would love to take my daughter. My husband and I just had a baby and this would be perfect for just her time.
Love to try the kid area!
It was corn maze 1, not 2.
Our favorite is brocolli. My kids can’t get enough
Excellent you all must visit
Thank you for the review. We decided to go to Kerrytown after thinking the mall would be too busy. Kerrytown celebration was outdoors which made the crafts difficult to do. They did send home bags with crafts to do later. They did do a marshmallow roast which my kids 9 and 5 did enjoy. We did not stay for long as it was just too chilly. We ended up going to the Tea Haus which is always a good time.
If the schools go over the allotted days…they can opt to add time to the school days to make up missed time.
I’m not sold on the new Ninja Turtles movie. Before you tar and feather me, let me tell you a short story.Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has to be the most successful parody in American culture. If you’re interested enough to read this, you probably already know that TMNT was originally conceived by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman as a single-issue spoof of popular 1980’s comics like Daredevil
http://www.nrdfeed.com
We had passes for Dinosaurs Alive as well, but it was me and two guy friends my age (mid-to-late 20s) so we were not interested in that – it sounds cool though. (we did more of the haunted Halloweekends stuff instead, and the coasters)
Glad you go to go back!
It was definitely more of a kid thing. We had done most of what we wanted and were walking by. Definitely an added bonus for the kids who aren’t as into the rides as my daughter
my daughter learned a Mozart piece on violin and she is enjoy it
My favorite composer is Mozart. Never seen a show – can’t wait!
I love anything with cello 🙂
Can’t go wrong with Mozart
We enjoyed the around the world performance.
I love them
I love them . I have yet too go with my youngest.
Vivaldi’s Four Seasons is a favorite. We are new to town so we’ve never been to an A2SO event.
Welcome to Ann Arbor! We love living here.
I’d love to chat with you sometime about your blog. I started KZOOkids.com with the help of Melody from grkids.com and am always looking for other local friends to connect with.
Have a super day!
Jill Piwko
Jill – I friended you on Facebook. I’d love to talk sometime.
Do you plan to replace your smoke detector with smoke and carbon monoxide detector? It is a combo type and provides more functions for you. It is much better since it will also detect carbon monoxide instead of only smoke.
You know that carbon monoxide is poison gas and can kill you in almost no times.
And to make sure that such detector will always work, try to purchase one with dual power or battery back up. So, it will be no interruption even though in power outage.
Have you considered this replacement?
I replaced some of ours with combo units. Not the ones in unoccupied bedrooms or in areas where carbon monoxide detectors are not advised. They all have a battery backup.
Hello,

Nov 6?? Weeks before thanksgiving?Sorry that’s just wrong. I hope parents don’t support this ever backwards Christmas commercialism creep.
I’m just the messenger. Three years ago, we attended on Nov 11.

Looks amazing – I love Italian Food – I will have to check Bravo out with my husband soon!
I was bummed to not be able to make this event…I may have drooled a bit admiring the bisque and your hubby’s entree 😉 YUM! I’ll have to check it out next time I’m in A2. Glad you two got to have a little day date – how fun!
I love Lobster Bisque so if they have good soup you already have me sold! Thanks for the nice review
Much yumminess here :). I work next to Somerset mall in Troy and we have Brio, which I think is Bravo’s sister restaurant. I’ve been to Bravo once or twice though. Make sure to sign up for their email club too to get a free meal during your birthday month!
Already done!
Looks like a ton of fun and super yummy!
I love love love Bravos! We have one here in the East Lansing area. Their food is amazing!

Thanks for letting me know about AAPSEF. I don’t think I was really aware of it. I don’t think I’ve heard much about it through my daughter’s school (3rd grade in AAPS).
Those are really nice Anna Mae!
Thanks. I had to crop your kid out of last year’s picture :).
I’ve taken several of my nieces to family events at the symphony, and they loved the events. When they were younger, I brought along earplugs just in case the noise bothered them, and they enjoyed dressing up and attending a “grown-up” event. I’ll be on the lookout for this event next year!
Keep an eye out for their March Family Concert (Sunday, March 22 it has a Disney theme!
That’s cool that you can vote for the movie lineup. I wish they didn’t do them on Sunday nights, if they did them Fri or Sat I’d be more apt to drive in and stay over at my A2 friend’s apartment.
They usually do some fun bands/musicians that I do drive in for, though.
As for location, I didn’t really think about the traffic but your points are valid – North U is more heavily trafficked then Washington.
I agree on all the weeknights for the movie. Even being a townie it’s hard to do them – especially with a 9 year old & when they pick movies like The Hobbit (on last year’s list).
I probably worry more about the traffic since I drive around town more often.
OMG, chocolate raspberry wontons?! That sounds amazing.
My go-to meal at PF Changs is the chicken lettuce wraps plus the honey chicken. I like the sesame chicken too but it’s a little spicy, and the cashew/almond chicken also. That reminds me, they just sent me a free app/dessert coupon for my birthday so I’m going to head to the Troy location to get myself some lettuce wraps to go sometime soon :).
My favorite location is actually the Northville one though.
🙁 I can’t eat the lettuce wraps at PF Chang’s since they have mushrooms. I usually love lettuce wraps.

This looks AWESOME! I love board games, and I own the Harry Potter one (and kick butt at it) so I totally agree it should cover all the books.
We love having game nights with our family and friends, and I can see where this would be a great option because I am especially guilty of being ‘connected’ still while we’re playing. Very cool!
I love that it’s a no electronic zone. I think that’s great to give your child lots of one on one time.
I had NO idea a place like this existed! Such a cool idea and a great way to have fun with the kiddos over winter.
Pretty unique concept! Never seen or head establishments like this one before. Great job to the owners!
My name is WENDY-SLAM-ZARRO-DROID
My name would be TARYN-GIGA-ZARRO-DROID!
I didn’t know they were coming out with this, thanks for posting!
Hi there! Ran across your account & wondered if you were open to affiliate advertising opportunities through Impact Radius. Our program, Sittercity, is America’s largest and most trusted site for matching parents with local house sitters, pet sitters, and senior care providers.
Jenn-I was formerly with Sittercity through ShareASale, but never had much interest.

My Bizarro name is BERNIE-SPIN-ZARRO-DROID. Thanks for the giveaway. It looks like a fun movie.
Do you know if these free movies are baby friendly? Meaning, is it the type of event that babies and kids can make occasional noise and it is not a big deal?
The movies are marketed to families. We haven’t been in a few years, but as a preschooler my daughter would often laugh loudly or exclaim during the movie (heck, she still does that sometimes at 9). It was not out of place. A baby crying should still be taken out to the hall. I also remember them having an intermission even in a 90 minute cartoon. The intermission actually worked against my daughter because it would take her out of the movie & then she had a hard time settling back down.
We went to the 10am movie on Sunday with our 4 year old, 2 year old, and 3 month old. My 3 month old made the occasional noise, cried a bit, and nursed throughout most of the movie. We also saw other infants in carseats being carried in. It’s definitely family friendly!
One more thing — the intermission that the previous person mentioned no longer happens. They play the movie from beginning to end like any other movie.

Thanks for sharing your pizza places! I am not from Ann Arbor, but have a trip planned to visit soon and it is nice to have a local’s perspective.
I haven’t been to Disney World or the other parks since 2000. I’m sure a lot has changed. I see a lot of people on FB talk about Butter beer. I thought it was beer. Glad you all enjoyed Diagon Alley. It sounds like fun.
Yes, things have definitely changed at both Universal and Disney since 2000.
We had so much fun when we went but I’m slightly bummed their wands just sit in the boxes. How was the weather?
First day was rainy (check out the poncho in the Hogwarts Express pics), but at 67 it was more than 70 degrees warmer than the previous morning at home. The rest of our trip was mostly in the 80s until the night before we flew home when it dropped to the 50s at night and low 60s the day we left.
Plus the rain the first day (Saturday) helped keep some locals home most of the rides are indoors so it wasn’t that big of a deal.
Looks like it was a fun and long trip. We haven’t been to Disney in about 7 years. They have so many new things there now.

Looks like you got a great variety of Marvel products in your package and what a great giveaway for your readers. Them snacks look pretty yummy too!
I love it! I am SO excited for the new Avengers movie, I am a complete and total Marvel movie buff! I can’t wait to see it
Super cute! I definitely entered the contest too since I don’t own The Avengers. I’m seeing it next Tues in Livonia, very excited for it.
PS: I like the new blog design!
PPS: when I tried to pin the pic, it said “blocked because it may lead to spam’ … no idea why. :-/ also your tweet thing doesn’t have a link to this post.
I couldn’t pin the pin. I received the same quote “may lead to spam”.
My husband has been collecting Captain America stuff since he was in diapers. He would love everything you have!

VERY cool! I’m glad everything isn’t just re-painted pink like so many manufacturers have a tendency to do. Rock on, girls who love Avengers!
My daughter Faith loves super heroes. She will be seeing Avengers opening weekend.
Thats a girl with some good taste! My husband is a Captain America fan since he was probably still in the womb thanks to his dad. He has a man cave thats red and blue and full of CA collectibles. Kiddo enjoys it because her dad does so we have fun with it.
I love that Avengers lego set! Would love to have it with my kids. Awesome collectibles for sure.

Thanks!
This looks like so much fun! My son loves those books!
My kids love these books! I entered the contest! Good luck to everyone who threw their name into the hat.
This show looks so cute. The same company is doing the Detroit show but it’s at City Theatre, downtown.
Good luck to all participants. Looks like a great event that kids and adults will surely love!
Sounds like a fun show. I’m not sure if my youngest is too old.
I’m all about the classics – so the Give a Mouse a Cookie is the best, but I also liked the Moose and muffin one 🙂

My daughter would have a blast at this performance! Fun!
I didn’t know that Ken Jennings wrote books. That’s pretty cool!
Great list of books. My oldest is a little older than your daughter, but I’ll have to see if he would like any of these books.
Does he have any to add to the list?
Fun list! My second-grader will surely be there soon. I’ll have to remember the book that’s the basis for the Home movie – she’s been asking to see that 🙂
Check out the Young Royal Diaries series it’s great for that age range and a little higher!
My third grader loves Diary of a Wimpy Kid. She has been OBESESSED with reading Anne Frank and asks me really depressing questions. It breaks my heart but I know it’s good for her to read it.
Thanks for your lovely article about the University of Michigan Museum of Natural History! So glad you and your daughter had fun.

I was hoping to get blueberries too. The Farmers Market shared a photo that they had blueberries that morning, but by the time we got to the market they were gone.
Also Hy 5 Wheel and Merry Go Round are there for a total of 18 rides.
Correction. Boomers Ball Park – I see Carousel = Merry Go Round 🙂

My son did this at the Take Your Child To Work event at my husband’s work this past year. They had a blast creating their containers and my son’s creation was one of the only ones that was successful out of all of the other kids creations (he was the youngest out of 30 kids!). Such a great way to get them to think outside the box. #client
That’s so awesome that your son was successful. I use a relatively low drop height and onto mulch so the odds were in their favor. My driveway is too sloped for safe ladder usage.

I bought the game and completed it 100% in just under 24 hours and I enjoyed it for the most part, just like every other lego game I have played. Its not the best one but its still enjoyable. I do hope they change the formula up at some point though, it is getting a bit too samey.
How much for yearly membership?
You would have to contact Romulus Athletic Center. This post is about a Groupon deal that was offered in 2013.
Washtenaw Christian Academy is having an open house on February 25th. I’ve loved sending my daughter there for preschool!
Thank you. I just added it to the calendar. Do you have a contact at the school so I can discuss options for listing in our upcoming preschool and school guide?
I would contact Amy Houpt the Elementary Principal and Preschool Director (ahoupt@washtenawchristian.org).

Just a quick question: If you were to estimate how long the concert typically lasts, what would be your best guess? Trying to gauge length for bringing a younger child. Thanks!
They Family Concerts are usually about an hour. My experience is that there are a number of younger children.
Thank you very much. That’s very helpful. We look forward to going for the first time in March.
(Minecraft) A sensation, and rightly so. This is a game that makes you both happy and creative. This is pretty cool because the kids are having fun and learning at the same time. I bet the kids really enjoyed it.

We were here today with kids (boys and girls) from 3 yo up to 8 yo and everyone of them had a LOT of fun. They were busy with all different entertained areas and finally showed us small performance on the stage. Great clean place. Open concept – enough space for kids to play and for parents to sit on coach or chair and observing. Very friendly and helpful customer service. Convenient location (on the right side from 94 Highway toward Costco). Big enough parking lot. We were able to bring our own snack. There is clean restroom. Kids were able to be in their street shoes, but I I would advise to have shoes/slippers to use inside. Definitely, on my top of list for snowy/rainy/too hot day to do.

I agree with you in that it’s for older kids. That being said I am an “older kid” 😉 and loved it.
And adults…I may have left that part off.

I took my 6 year old to see this because at Disneyland they showed us a preview of it and it looked awesome! It was a good movie but definitely not something for the youngsters, I even jumped at a couple spots and now my daughter is scared to go to sleep and has banned herself from movies till she’s 15. Upset for my kiddo but I loved it…
Thanks for the giveaway! We love Pinkalicous.
My girls are 3 and 5 and would love this! They’re big Pinkalicious fans.
We took our preschooler who REALLY wanted to see it after seeing the trailers so much. She stayed focused the whole time and loved it EXCEPT the scary scenes ended up being too intense (I too was on the edge of my seat). She rarely has been scared of things, and didn’t seem scared while watching, but she was up all night with nightmares that day. I feel so sorry I didn’t read this review earlier. She’s okay now, but we really should have waited. Otherwise it is a fantastic film, which touches upon some big, important concepts. I loved it (as an adult).
Would love to win Pinkalicious tickets! My girls are four and almost six and the show is right before the oldest one’s bday – would be perfect!
Thanks for the giveaway! My daughter would love to go.
i would love to take my daughter for her 4th birthday!
Sounds like a great show.

I too took my 6 year old daughter. I was a little surprised at the stark difference between the lightness of the trailers and the darkness of the movie. I didn’t notice how scared she was at the time (although she watched from my lap for some of it) but she was scared during the daytime afterwards! She has never been scared of other movies before despite some scary scenes. Also she really couldn’t follow the story with it’s numerous plot twists and adult themes. Every other film she has seen she has wanted to watch again but she specifically said she doesn’t want to watch it ever again until she is ‘grown’. In saying that I loved it. But I would suggest 8 or 9YO and up.

My favorite song from Beauty and the Beast is “Tale as Old as Time.” My children would love to watch the play with me.
Thanks for the review, Anna Mae! I try to go once per summer with friends. I’m glad they have red straps for larger guests, too – I’m a little bigger than I usually am (trying to lose weight, currently) and some of the older rides are hard to squeeze into; Gatekeeper, which I love, was hard as well last summer.
I don’t think I’ve ever been on a dive coaster either. Looking forward to trying Valravn out!
I’m not small either and noticed a difference the one time I was in the red strap seat. The seat itself is the same size, it’s just how much they have to squish you down.

I’m with the Michigan Secretary of State’s office and I wanted to give you and your readers a heads-up that the Secretary of State has relaunched the Michigan Child Protection Registry. It allows parents to register cell phones, email addresses and Instant Messenger IDs to keep kids from seeing ads for alcohol, tobacco, gambling and pornography. The website is http://www.protectmichild.com and if you have any questions or want more information you are welcome to email me. Thanks!
enjoy going here with my kids c
Their rice krispie treats are VERY tasty so you should give them another try sometime :). Are you allergic to mushrooms? (but not shiitake?) Mushrooms are my fave so that would be hard for me.
Not allergic, but definitely an unhappy digestive system. The shiitake don’t bother me.

How big are the people that fit into the red strap…. I am still thinking that I might be too big, I have a 48 inch waist but my butt is bigger…. (I am hippy) let me know I go on Friday.
I’m not sure it’ll work. I wear a women’s 18-20 & it was tight in the regular seat, but I’ve got a stomach. I’m pretty sure they have a test seat out in front.

The August 30 event at Angell school is a “Kindergarten and ‘New to Angell’ Family Picnic Social” followed by an orientation — not just an “Incoming Kindergarten Picnic”. (We’re new to the school and looking forward to this!)
Thanks. I’ve updated it. It was listed on the school’s webpage as just for kindergarteners, but the PTO lists it as for all incoming families.

I haven’t introduced AG to my kids yet, but my favorite was always Molly. But I read them ALL and loved every single one. *I* can’t wait to read these books, and maybe I will share them too 😉
Molly was my daughter’s favorite too. She came home from Kindergarten with all the info on the dolls. American Girl was after my time, so it was all new to me.

Thank you for this post! I am taking my almost 3 year old to his first game next week and I haven’t been to a game myself in 10 years! This information is really helpful. The no bag policy is crazy. Also no bottles seems like it would be impossible to bring a baby if you are a bottle feeding mom. It has certainly changed since I went as a kid! Thanks again!
I would think that baby bottles would be considered medically necessary and permitted. I know I brought a water bottle in 2 years ago. It must have been listed as permitted since I would not have risked having to toss it or walking back to the car.
I liked the look of it from the trailer, but a lot of those jokes are in the first ten minutes…it’s a shame, really. My fault for watching trailers! Actually the adventure stuff isn’t terrible, it’s just that it hits that note from about 15 minutes and stays on it to 1 hr 20 or so. But kids like it, and there are some good moments therein.

Sounds like fun – it looks like it’s better to attend early in the season, then, so it’s less cold out! I’m not an ice skater either – I tried in my UM days but was always bad at it, lol.
Yes, but they have lots of fires and you go in and out of buildings, so it isn’t too bad.

Hi, I know this is an old post, but I am searching for this same 2015 american greetings bunny in this post. My daughter received one that year for her first birthday and has been inseparable with it ever since and it has started to fall apart. I know it is a long shot but wondering if anyone has the same bunny that is in good condition or never used. Thank you!

My daughter loves elmo!
My girls love the classic – Elmo!
Is Elmo classic? I think of Big Bird, Grover, Cookie Monster, Oscar, Bert, Ernie, the Count, etc – the ones I grew up with as the classic.
Ok, I did some research & he was around since the early 70s, as a background character called Baby Monster. He became Elmo with his personality & started being a focus character in 1984.

I haven’t seen them live and I would take my husband.
Are you allowed to bring snacks/drinks with you in a bag for the kids? Or do they not allow bags?
Als0- will today (MLK day) be very busy? Anyone have experience with this?
I’m not positive, but I think you’ll be able to bring snacks/drinks. I know we’ve bought food inside the show before.
I’d expect MLK Day to be less crowded than a weekend, but more crowded than a typical weekday. Parking may also be tricky with some lots that open on weekends only available to monthly pass holders, but increased crowds compared to a typical weekday.

Thanks for coming to our event in Ann Arbor. We love the video and photos you took.
I wanted to let you know of an event coming up Monday that your readers or perhaps even you may be interested in, even though it’s in East Lansing. Despite the distance, the message still resonates.
We are hosting an oral cancer awareness event on Monday on Michigan State University’s campus at the Union. From noon to 1 p.m., attendees will be able to receive a free oral cancer screening, win prizes and learn more about taking care of their oral and overall health.
We are focused on bringing oral cancer awareness to all, but specifically the college age population and to those who regularly engage in behaviors that can lead to oral cancer—like drinking, smoking and HPV.
Here is the event registration page, if you’d like to share with your readership. http://go.pardot.com/l/147421/2017-03-24/23bjlb

I agree with your review – I thought it was good, but not EPIC. I too want to know how she hasn’t aged!
Suicide Squad was good by the way but I know most critics hated it.
The biggest problem was it was too long. I felt like the Themyscira portion could have been covered in half the time. And there was more slow points at the end of the movie.
I’ll have to see if Suicide Squad is on Netflix or Amazon.
I think Common Sense Media has it about right — it’s appropriate for ages 12+. I’m a bit surprised that some people think it’s OK for 10 year-olds, much less younger.
There’s a lot of death, a lot of bodies, both soldiers fighting each other and civilian victims of a weapon of mass destruction. And there’s one killing of a group of people that’s done in a sadistic manner.
As an adult I thought the movie was OK, but far short of being epic or even just awesome.
I love that it features a woman hero, who’s both powerful and determined to do good. And for those reasons I’d love to be able to recommend it for younger kids. But the violence is just too much..
And for those of you who are wondering why she doesn’t age over a 100 years, the answer is given in the movie — “only a _ can _ a _”. I left out the key words so as not to spoil it. But the answer lies in that first blank.

Fun ideas! My son especially is obsessed with his video games, but does enjoy other activities when I make the effort to plan and initiate them 🙂
So much fun. We love to get out and enjoy family activities during the summer. Now that our girls are grown, the drive is one of my favorites, and it’s been far too since I’ve been.
You did a great job on this one. Matt and I have been thinking about buying a movie projector for outdoor movies.
I’ve priced one a few times. But our neighbor borrows one from work to do a movie night.
I absolutely love Four Square! We played it a lot during my college days – such a great way to get out of the house and have fun.

Hello, I saw a correction that needed to be made. Instead of the bigger area being only for 3-12 years old it’s for children that are 34′ inches and 2 years old up to 12 years old.
Thanks,

Thanks.I’ve updated the article. I was there during soft opening, so it’s possibly a new clarification.
I haven’t been to Cedar Point in SO long! I don’t think my husband and I have ever been there together! We need to go sometime soon! I like your idea of taking breaks and I had no idea they had a museum. I’m not a big heights person which is probably why I haven’t been in so long, but I do like the spin you around rides.

That looks both terrifying and thrilling, lol. I did ziplining in California a few years ago, during a blogging conference, which felt the same to me: it was hard to step off the platform but so exhilarating afterwards!
We’re booked to do the Adventure Park in West Bloomfield again with my daughter’s Girl Scout troop. I signed us up as her +1. Hoping my husband goes and he can do the course. Otherwise, I guess I’m up. At least that course isn’t as high as the Zoo.

Another wonderful place to pick raspberries and blackberries (limited season) is Berry Hill Farm, 12835 N Territorial Rd
Chelsea, Michigan. It’s actually less than 4 miles from intersection of Dexter-Pinckney Rd and N Territorial, so although it is a Chelsea address, we go through Dexter to get there. Very nice people. I didn’t reaize they had a kids fair! So cool. I’ll have to look out better for “real” bathrooms.
I second the readers who said use the UM bathrooms. All of the libraries are open so you could stop at the UGLi (Undergrad library) or the Grad library. We usually stop at the UM building near Ulrich’s, too, to use the restroom.
For parking, I recommend meters if you are only going to be there a few hours, specifically the ones on Hill near East Quad … if you get there early enough, there are usually a few left.
I’m missing Art Fair this year and I’m a bit bummed about it! I have time on Sat. but not really enough to drive to A2 and back.

We went to Day with Thomas 2+ years ago and our little girl loved it. We’ve been meaning to return with our little guy— now that they are coming so close, we might have to head North!
My daughter loves Rosie.
Love Thomas – great review of the park
My daughter loves Thomas! This looks like a great day!
I took my son to this last year at Greenfield Village and he loved it. We were going to go this year, but it was too expensive. I didn’t know it was coming to Flint. I would love to take him!
Both of my kids love Thomas! Thanks for reminding us that this event is happening!
My kids like Percy. We are planning on going to Crossroads Village and Huckleberry Railroad sometime that first weekend anyway. Is the regular train running during this event, too?
I’m pretty sure it’s just Thomas during the event. We attended many years ago – 2009 – and the ride took about 40 minutes.
