Event Description

Bridging US 23 is an initiative developed by The Dispute Resolution Center (DRC) in collaboration with The Association for Youth Empowerment (AYE). It is dedicated to transforming the way the people of Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti and the surrounding counties relate to one another.

There will be two walk options:

  • Long Walk – 5 miles – Start at United Way for Southeastern Michigan at 10a
  • Short Walk – 1.5 miles – Start at Ypsilanti Community High School at 11:30a

This year’s event honors local black history in Ann Arbor & Ypsilanti

Both walks end at end at Brown Chapel AME Church. As the walks end (around noon) there will be speakers, activities, food truck, snacks and a learning circle.

  • noon – Food provided by: Good Eats, Jamaican Spice, Kona Ice & Motor City Sweet Treats trucks
  • 12:45p – Programs with speakers, music, art and more
    • All-Ages Art Activity from Riverside Arts Center
    • UM Prison Creative Art Project bringing Print OUT Project
  • 1:30p – African Drumming & Dancing by Bichini Bia Congo Dance Theater
