Learn about the tradition of ekphrasis and create your own poetry-inspired painting
Some of the most famous poems throughout history were inspired by paintings and other pieces of art, called ekphrasis. What if we made a visual art piece inspired by poetry? Learn about the tradition of ekphrasis and create your own poetry-inspired painting!
About the instructor: Angelica Esquivel is a Xicana writer and artist. She created the work Earth, You Have Returned to Me, a triptych made from junk mail and acrylic paint on permanent display at YDL-Superior. The piece was inspired by the foliage in Ypsilanti and its title is an homage to a poem of the same title by Elaine Equi.
