Washtenaw County Halloween Events

The Halloween Happenings list will be updated throughout the season. So, if you know of an event that is missing, please leave it in the comments or submit it to our calendar.

The Family Halloween Party at the UM Museum of Natural History will not return this year. They are getting ready to open the rest of the museum exhibits in November. Hopefully the party will return in 2020.

Haunts for Hunger – 755 Kuehnle St Ann Arbor

Join the fun at Haunts for Hunger, a haunted house started by 2 Ann Arbor high schoolers in 2014 to raise donations to combat hunger and food insecurity. A donation of one food item per person is requested as admission. The haunted house is geared towards ages 7+, with some scares a bit more intense than others. They offer two versions - an actor free spooky time from 5:30-7p and a Scary time from 7:30-9p

Participating downtown businesses will have trick or treat from 9a-4p. Then from 1-4p, the Dexter Chamber of Commerce and other local businesses will hold Trick or Treat in Monument Park

Downtown Branch of AADL – 343 South Fifth Avenue Ann Arbor
Time: 10:00am-10:30am

Halloween Party! at the Downtown Branch of AADL. The event is officially listed for preschool-grade 3 (although my daughter attended at 10 months and 22 months). I love this event as a kick off to the Main Street Treat Parade.There will be stories, a puppet show, and trick or treating.There are two parties with the second event at 11:30a.

Halloween Treat ParadeThe Main Street Area Association will hold their 18th annual Halloween Treat Parade on Halloween from 11a-3p. Stop by participating businesses to trick or treat (the list of businesses will be added to the Main Street Area Association's website). Before the Halloween Treat Parade starts, the Downtown Branch of Ann Arbor District Library typically holds a Halloween Party. The Halloween Treat Parade was my favorite Ann Arbor Halloween activity when my daughter was younger. We trick or treated each year from the time she was 10 months old through Kindergarten (She was the last year of half-day Kindergarten). I loved trick or treating on ….

🎃2nd Annual Community Trick or Treat

The Cedars of Dexter – 411 Cedars Lane Dexter

The Cedars at Dexter invites little ghosts & goblins to trick or treat  in their village of 60 cottages. Park on the street or at the Clubhouse. Stop at the Clubhouse for cider and a donut. Participating cottages will have porch light on.

Stop by the Candy Safety Check on Halloween Night. Pittsfield Township Public Safety will be onsite to check and make sure that each bag of goodies is safe!

Ypsi District Library is holding a Haunted Castle Masquerade just for teens. There will be an after-hours mystery with food, costumes, and spooky fun. Come in costume or use their props. Take on a role in the mystery or try to solve it. Only teens 12-18 will be permitted in the library after 6p.

🎃All Hallows Illumination

The Eyrie is organizing an Illumination of Frog Island Park for All Hallows. Bring your Jack-O-Lantern. Costumes encouraged.

🎃The Great Pumpkin Roll

Mill Pond Park – 565 W. Bennett St Saline
Time: 9:00am-10:00am
Cost: Free
Join Saline Recreation for The Great Pumpkin Roll and race your Jack-O-Lanterns at Mill Pond Park in their 16th Annual Great Pumpkin Roll. Winners will receive prizes. Three will be cider, donuts, and lots of fun. The event is FREE and no registration is needed.
