Star Wars Day – How Are You Celebrating?

My daughter loves Star Wars and has requested a special Star Wars themed dinner. Unfortunately I couldn’t find any Star Wars events in Ann Arbor – if you know of any, please let me know. Our schedule (birthday party and soccer game) combined with shorter hours on Sunday prevents us from driving beyond Ann Arbor so we will have to settle for celebrating at home.

The closest event that I found is at the Chelsea Library (thanks to the reader who shared). From 1-4p, they will be celebrating Star Wars Day with free comics, crafts, and stormtroopers. They will also be showing The Empire Strikes Back. Wear your favorite costume, there may be prizes. The Chelsea Library is located at 221 S. Main St in Chelsea.

LEGO Stores will be celebrating May the 4th Be With You through tomorrow.  LEGO Star Wars sets will be on sale and with any LEGO Star Wars purchase you will receive a LEGO Star Wars poster and with a $75 or more purchase of LEGO Star Wars you will receive a LEGO Darth Revan Minifigure. Plus, you can build a Star Wars starship for the light side or the dark side to sway the Forceometer to your side. The nearest LEGO store to Ann Arbor is at Somerset in Troy.

Disney Stores will be holding a Star Wars Event today with a FREE pin to the first 100 guests and  a force training session for younglings at 12:30p. The nearest Disney Stores are in Franklin Park Mall (Toledo) and Great Lakes Crossing (Auburn). The GreatLakes Crossing store is an outlet, so I would call to verify that they are participating.

My daughter has started the day by building a LEGO Star Wars set. We will also be making Princess Pizza Roll Buns for dinner. I am about to make them so that the roll will firm up in the freezer during the day before being cut for baking. They are difficult to cut when freshly rolled.

If you want to make a cake, my daughter’s light saber birthday cake was a big hit.

I have a few more ideas on my Star Wars Party Pinterest Board including Lightsaber napkins, Lightsaber pretzels, and craft projects.

Ann Arbor with Kids is your go-to source for Ann Arbor Family Fun. It got its start in an activity list that I was compiling for the playgroup I ran at our church. When my daughter started preschool, the other moms were thrilled to hear about my list. I decided to take the list public in 2009.
