Today we went to Buhr Park Pool for Tot Splash. We ended up staying until the main pool opened and took a quick swim in there, leaving around 2p. We had a great time.
Tot splash is from 10:30a-1p. During this time, only the children’s wading pool is open and the main pool is open for lessons and adult lap swim. The children’s pool features a large zero entry section and a maximum depth of 2′. There are water fountains and sprayers for the children to interact with. They also provide many water toys such as scoops, diving bars, watering cans, and pails.
There are a lot of chairs and some picnic tables available around the children’s pool. Much of the seating is in the shade, either from the plentiful trees or from picnic shelters. The shade even extends to some of the pool which is nice on hot days, especially for little ones. In addition to the picnic tables, there is plenty of grassy area to lay down a blanket or towels for a picnic lunch (no glass containers). Our group had located chairs at the far corner of the children’s pool in the shade from trees and we claimed grass behind us also in the shade for our picnic.
Admission for myself and my 4 year old was $7.50, $4 for me and $3.50 for her. Children 3 and under are free with a paid adult. The admission for Tot Splash is the same as general admission to the pool and covers you to stay for public swim. Tot Splash is also available at Fuller Park Pool and Veterans Park Pool at different days and times.
Tot Splash was a lot of fun. We are planning to return a few times through the summer, provided the weather co-operates. Last year, we had a trip planned, but had to cancel due to cold weather.
