Magical Music Of Disney
The Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra will present their final family concert of the 2014-2015 season Magical Music of Disney at 4p on Sunday, March 22 at the Michigan Theater.
Selections from Disney classics will be featured in this popular family-fun performance for all ages including The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion King. Children are invited to come dressed in their favorite Disney costume.
My daughter has had her eye on Magical Music of Disney since she saw the announcement in the program at the final Family Concert last year. She was already thinking about which costume she could wear to the concert. I have always loved the music from The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion King so this is a concert I will also enjoy.
Unfortunately, my daughter’s Girl Scout troop is camping that weekend so we won’t be able to attend the concert.
Plan to arrive early to join in the family-friendly fun with A2SO’s community partners, the Barnard L. Maas Foundation, from 2:30-3:30pm before the concert commences.
Pre-concert activities are sponsored by:
- Ann Arbor Hands on Museum
- Ann Arbor Art Center
- Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra Instrument Petting Zoo
The first time we attended an Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra concert, we didn’t arrive in time for the pre-show activities. Since then, we’ve made it a priority to arrive early enough for the pre-show activities. My daughter loves these activities as much as the concert itself. At last spring’s space concert, my daughter was having so much fun at some of the activities that she didn’t even have a chance to visit the instrument petting zoo.
My daughter and I have attended several of the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra’s family concerts. In each concert they make an effort to entertain the kids through the use of stories, props, and/or images on the screen. The Magical Music of Disney is taking it one step further by using music that the kids are already familiar with through the movies. When we attended the Space concert last year, my daughter’s favorite part was the Star Wars music since she is familiar with the movie.
