Mack Indoor Pool Opens for Fall/Winter/Spring

Memorial Day was the last day that the Ann Arbor Parks outdoor pools were open for the summer. Yesterday was not just the first day of school for 2014-2015, it was also the first day that the Mack Pool is open for the fall/winter/spring.

My daughter loves swimming and Mack Pool. We have been visiting since she was a toddler. She has also taken swim lessons at Mack several times. Her only complaint was that the water was cold. Although as she has gotten older, she no longer complains about cold weather swimming including many days that I consider too cold for the outdoor pool.

Mack Pool will have open swim hours daily through Memorial Day weekend. The pool hours are:

  • Monday-Friday from noon-2p
  • Monday-Friday from 4:30-6:30p
  • Monday-Friday from 8-9:30p
  • Saturday from 9a-1p (lap swimming only) and 1-6p
  • Sunday from 11:30a-6p
Admission to Mack Pool is $5/adults, and $4/youth (17 & under) and seniors (55+). Ages 3 and under are free. There are also season passes available. Family passes are $250 for residents and $300 for non-residents. Adult passes are $155 ($180 non-resident) while youth passes are $115 ($135 non-resident).
In addition to open swim for families, they offer swim classes, swim lessons, and log rolling sessions. My daughter has done their swim lessons and I considered swim team last year but the fall season conflicted with soccer practice (meets were the same night) and she opted to play indoor soccer in the winter instead of swim team.
Mack Pool will be offering Splash Days throughout the season. Splash Days are from 2-4p on Saturday afternoons. There will be games, activities and prizes both in the water and on the deck. The first Splash Day is this weekend, Saturday, September 6. Admission to Splash Day is standard pool admission (or season pass). Other Splash Days are:
  • September 6
  • October 18
  • November 15
  • December 20
  • January 17
  • February 21
  • March 21
  • April 11
Dive-in Movies will also relocate to Mack Pool during the winter months. Ann Arbor Parks has announced the show dates, but the movies will be announced closer to the show dates. Shows will be held at 7p on the following dates:
  • October 18
  • November 15
  • December 27
  • January 19
  • March 14
  • April 4
By attending all of the Dive-In Movies you will be entered to win a season pass for 2015-2016.
