Ann Arbor Store Helps Women’s Shelter Now Through January 31st

(January 19, 2015 – Detroit, Mich.) … J.Jill at Arbor Hills shopping center in Ann Arbor is hosting a coat drive for The Women’s Center of Southeastern Michigan (The Women’s Center) beginning on January 20 through January 31, 2015.

“J.Jill stands firmly behind organizations that help disadvantaged and homeless women to become self sufficient,” said Christina Fairley, J.Jill assistant manager. “The Women’s Center of Southeastern Michigan is truly J.Jill’s vision personified in that regard. We chose The Women’s Center to honor this vision.”

Having a winter coat in Michigan is not a luxury but is a necessity. Customers are encouraged to donate clean gently used or new coats for women. Hats, gloves and scarves will also be accepted. People that donate will receive a discount coupon for 10% off purchase. Donations will be collected by The Women’s Center at the close of business (8PM) January 31st. Some restrictions apply. See store for details.

“The Women’s Center of Southeastern Michigan is very grateful to J.Jill for holding this coat drive and appreciates the ongoing relationship that has developed since the Ann Arbor store opened last year,” said Mickey Katz-Pek, The Women’s Center board chairwomen. “Our therapists see over 600 women for individual and group counseling each year and many of them simply can’t afford warm clothing – having a warm coat is important, especially now that the temperatures have dipped so low. On behalf of our clients, we thank J.Jill and their generous patrons.”
