The calendar may read November 15, but it is looking like it will be a gorgeous day today! Are you spending the day outdoors?
Today is the perfect day to put up your outdoor holiday decorations. Ours have been up since last weekend (but won’t be turned on until after Thanksgiving). We would have saved them for this weekend, except we knew I would be out of town. I’ve been in the Indiana Dunes for a summit with other hyperlocal focused sites from around the country. Would it be horrible if I stopped at the dunes on my way home while my husband is home finishing our yard work for the season?
Of course since it is mid-November, there are no outdoor events on the calendar. Visiting a park is a great choice (be warned though Pittsfield Parks have already closed their bathroom facilities for the season).
A fun outdoor activity that my daughter and her friends love is conducting egg drop experiments. This would be a great day for them to do them before it becomes too cold.
If you do want to attend an event, Arbor Annie has a few suggestions. You can get a jump on your holiday celebrations with some shopping and family fun at the Kerrytown Market & Shops Holiday Open House from 10a-6p. Ann Arbor District Library also has some fun events including: Make Your Own Magic Wand (grade 6-adult) at the Malletts Creek Library, or listen to stories at the Pittsfield Library’s Tellebration: Story Fun for Families.
