FAT Philly’s & Burgers Grand Opening Celebration This Weekend

FAT Philly’s & Burgers is having their Grand Opening Celebration this weekend. They have been open since the summer, but are hosting their official celebration this weekend. I stopped by for lunch last week and reviewed their Philly Steak sandwich and also learned a bit more about their history.

On Friday, October 19 they will have community celebrities for you to meet and hear their live critiques of the food. Guests will be from the American Cancer Society, Ann Arbor Ypsilanti Chamber, Ypsilanti Community Media Lab, and the Ypsilanti Kiwanis Club. The evening will conclude with a College Weekend Mixer starting at 5:30p. It is probably best to come with the kids early before the college crowds start arriving.

Saturday, October 20 will feature football as the main attraction of the day. The EMU vs Army game will be shown beginning at 1p with the Michigan MSU game at 3:30p. In addition Ann Arbor native Marquin Parks, author of the children’s chapter book Wrinkles Wallace, will be on hand at 2p. For the adults from 5-9p on Saturday evening, they will have roses for the first 24 ladies for Sweetest Day. Lady T, featured columnist from The Ann will have date night tips at 5p.

Sunday, October 21 is Poetry Day with a full slate of local poets hourly from 1p until 8p.

If you can’t make it this weekend, they will have treats for the kids on Halloween, October 31 from 6-8p
