Now that January is here, that means that the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit is just around the corner. I’ll be attending Media Days for the third year on behalf of A Girls Guide to Cars. My husband is jealous that he doesn’t get to attend with me.
Big changes are underway for 2020. The North American International Auto Show moves to June for 2020. This will let the show expand beyond Cobo Center to locations around Detroit like the Detroit RiverWalk, Hart Plaza, Campus Martius, and other area. With the outdoor space, the show will also be able to include opportunities like test drives, automated driving demos, and more.
The move of NAIAS to June is also great for local families. With the show scheduled to kickoff the week of June 8th with media coverage, the show will be open during summer vacation offering more opportunities for families to visit on a weekday.
Follow along with my adventures at NAIAS on my Instagram and Twitter with the highlights shared on Facebook. Follow the tag #ReinventNAIAS, to follow along with my group at the auto show and to learn more about all the changes.
NAIAS is for the Whole Family
The Detroit Auto Show is a great event for the whole family. In addition to checking out the cars, there are plenty of fun interactive displays and activities for kids. Check out all of the fun family activities I found at the show this year and our free printable scavenger hunt.

Parking is limited at Cobo Center. A good idea is to park elsewhere in the city. Then, take the People Mover to Cobo Center or the Q Line to Campus Martius Park. It is a 4 block walk from Campus Martius to Cobo. I parked in Greektown and took the People Mover.
Join me and others with A Girls Guide to Cars to talk all things Detroit Auto Show at our Twitter Party on Thursday, January 17 at 7p.
