Saline Area Players announce Auditions for
Twisting with Aesop

Open auditions for adults and kids will take place from 7-8:00 p.m. on Monday & Tuesday, August 18 & 19 at Liberty School Auditorium, 7265 Saline-Ann Arbor Rd., Saline. You may come to one or the other audition times, and registration begins at 6:45 p.m. There will be four rehearsals for the show (working around cast conflicts as much as possible) plus a dress rehearsal on Saturday, October 4 from 1-3:00. The show will be performed at Rentschler Farm on October 5 at 1:00 & 3:30 p.m.

Auditioners should come in comfortable clothes and be ready to move. We will sing a little, move a little and read until our mouths go dry! Please bring a list of conflicts between the above dates. You will be asked to fill out an audition form as well. There is no need to prepare anything, except your enthusiasm and imagination. Join us, won’t you?

Saline Area Players have made it a tradition to perform at Rentschler Farm during Harvest Time on the Farm. This year, the show will be a rendition of some familiar Aesop fables, plus toe-tapping tunes, in a lovely outdoor, country atmosphere setting! Tales include the Tortoise and the Hare, The Ant and the Grasshopper and the Boy Who Cried Wolf. The cast size will be flexible depending on who auditions, and actors may play more than one part. There are parts available for many animals (male or female) including frogs, grasshopper, ant, hare, snake, tortoise, hedgehog, mouse, sheep, and wolf, and also parts for people (1 male, others can be male or female) – shepherd boy, villagers, chorus, and narrators. This is a fun family show and a great opportunity to try your hand at community theater with a limited time commitment.
