Arbor Annie’s Weekend Roundup – January 25-27

The weekend is sneaking up on us after a short week of school – between MLK Day on Monday and weather closures on Wednesday and Thursday, there were only two days of school for most of the area.

Arbor Annie has her picks for the best weekend activities.

The Saline Rec Center has several great events this weekend starting wtih Nerf Wars on Friday night and American Girl Tea Party in Wonderland and American Girl Doll, Clothing & Accessories Sale on Saturday. Unfortunately both sessions of the tea party are sold out.

It’s a weekend of performances with Wild Swan Theater’s Owl’s Winter, Skyline’s Get Hype!, the FutureStars Finale at Pioneer, and Snow White & Dancing Dwarfs in Dexter

    • February 8: The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part
    • February 22: How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World
    • March 8: Captain Marvel
    • March 15: Wonder Park
    • March 29: Dumbo

    Still in theaters are:

    • A Dog’s Way Home
    • Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
    • Bumblebee
    • Aquaman
    • Mary Poppins Returns
    • Ralph Breaks the Internet

I have only seen Ralph Breaks the Internet which we enjoyed. My daughter saw Mary Poppins Returns with her grandparents a couple of weeks ago. They said it was ok. Their two complaints was the length of the movie and the lack of any familiar songs.

    Looking Forward to Next Week

The current weather forecast shows the potential for more school closures with significant snowfall on Monday and low temperatures especially on Wednesday and Thursday.

Of course if we have significant snowfall, sledding will be a great activity. Check out our list of favorite sledding hills.
