Arbor Annie’s Weekday Picks – July 24-28, 2017
Are you breathing a sigh of relief that Art Fair is over? I know I am looking forward to being able to head back to downtown. The Ann Arbor with Kids PO Box is at the Liberty Post Office, and I am expecting the prize for a great giveaway coming up this week.
Arbor Annie’s Weekday Picks
Personally, this is our last busy week this summer. My daughter has been on swim team and a softball team all summer. Both wrap up this week. Hopefully, that means we’ll be able to attend a few more events. It will also simplify our dinner routine. When I was planning out our week, I realized Friday is the first day we’ll have dinner at home as a family…Softball games on Monday and Wednesday so she and I will eat before the game, and my husband will either pack dinner or pick something up on his way. Thursday is her swim team banquet with dinner at the pool.
One of my top picks for the week is Tuesday night. The YpsiTasty Grub Crawl organized by A2Y Chamber and Growing Hope we have attended several of these Grub Crawls over the years and love sampling the food at each restaurant. Several new restaurants have opened in Ypsi in the last year, so this is a great way to sample many of them at the same time.

Another top pick of the week is the Movie Heroes Concert by the Ann Arbor Civic Band. This is their last outdoor concert of 2017. I wish we could attend, but my daughter’s last softball game is the same night.
If you’re looking for a day trip, how about Detroit on Monday. Hudsonville is celebrating Detroit’s 316th birthday with free ice cream!

Now that school is out, the matinees (Free or Discounted) are a great option. Quality 16, Emagine, and Cinemark (Rave) all have movies this week. Quality 16 has Monster Trucks Monday-Friday. Rave is showing MegaMind on Tuesday and Saturday. Emagine is showing Ice Age Collision Course on Wednesday this week.
Still in theaters this week is Spiderman: Homecoming. We saw it last weekend, so don’t miss our review and parental guidance warnings. We also have reviews including parental guidance of several other shows still in theaters including Wonder Woman and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
Also in theaters are Cars 3 and Despicable Me 3 which I have yet to see. Maybe my daughter and I will take advantage of matinee pricing to see one of them this week.
