Ann Arbor’s Churchill Downs Park Profile
Churchill Downs Park is a small neighborhood park nestled behind homes in the Lawton neighborhood. It has a play structure, sand pit, swings, and more.
Churchill Downs has a small play structure sized for a neighborhood park. It has two slides and several climbing options.
Our favorite part of Churchill Downs Park is the 3 in a Row game. Is a cross between tic-tac-toe and Connect 4. It’s larger than a tic-tac-toe board, with pieces placed like Connect 4. The pieces slide from the outer circle to the game board, so there is no need to worry about the pieces being there. I enjoyed our game more than my daughter since I won.
The Churchill Downs Park has a sandpit. Unlike many Ann Arbor sand pits, it does not have any sand toys. If your child wants to play in the sand, I suggest bringing your own pail, shovel, or trucks.
Churchill Downs Playground also has a dome climber. The inside of the climber has holes kids can crawl through with ladybug flaps.
