Ann Arbor Christmas Tree Disposal
Are you looking for Ann Arbor Christmas Tree Disposal options? Personally, we have an artificial tree, but I’ve found a few options for you.
Information below is currently being updated for 2018. 2017 information where noted
Charitable Christmas Tree Collection
Each of the Ann Arbor High Schools has an extra-curricular group that is offering Christmas Tree Collection as a fundraiser.
Huron High School
The Men’s Cross Country Team will pick up on Sunday, January 6. The recommended donation is $25. Pickups begin at 7:30a. They are offering service to “more or less the Huron portion of town”.
Pioneer High School
The Men’s Baseball Team will pick up on Saturday, January 5 and Sunday, January 6. Picks up will start at noon on the 5th and run through 3p on the 6th. There is a $15 minimum donation. See information on their flyer. (PayPal to email@example.com with name and address in notes, mail them a check, or leave the door hanger on your door). Note they distributed door hangers to their planned area. If you did not get one, I would contact them at the email address above.
Skyline High School
Skyline High School’s Theatre and Band students are holding a Christmas Tree collection fundraiser. You don’t even have to go anywhere, they will pick them up at your home. Collection dates are January 6 or 13 with a snow date of January 20. Suggested donation is $20-30.

After January 31, you can cut, bundle and save your tree until compost collection resumes in April.
Pittsfield Township Christmas Tree Collection
Pittsfield Township offers curbside Christmas Tree Collection as party of your rubbish service. Curbside collection is the first 3 full weeks after Christmas (with Christmas on a Tuesday, I assume this starts on December 31). The maximum height is 6′. Cut longer trees into sections less than 6 feet in length. Trees must be clear of lights, stands, bags, and decorations.
Ypsilanti Township Christmas Tree Collection
Ypsilanti Township will provide curb pickup of Christmas Trees from December-March. Trees must not exceed 6′ (cut larger trees into smaller sections). Trees may be placed for collection with the tree stand, tree bags, and decorations.
Residents may also take the tree to the Compost Center (2600 E Clark Rd). Decorations including tinsel and tree stand must be removed. The Compost Center has limited hours during the winter months (December-March). They are open on Saturdays from 9a-4p.
I was unable to find information for the City of Ypsilanti, Saline, Scio Township, or Lodi Township. If you have their information or information for another municipality, let me know and I’ll update the article.
